After mutliple "incidents" involving massive property damage to Metropolis and New York city, the JLA and the JSA agree that Power Girl should take a little vacation from crime fighting to collect herself and to allow her out of control powers to settle. And after a phone call with her cousin, Clark Kent aka Superman, during this "time off", he suggests Power Girl get a day job to help fit in. Easier said than done. A WORD FROM CHRIS Believe it or not, but this is actually the first Power Girl movie EVER made. That includes Hollywood presentations too. Yep, I'm happy to say that I'm the first to take Power Girl, an easily overlooked character of DC Comics, and give her something to boast about. This film stars Tawnya Manion who gave one hell of a performance as Kara El. Tawnya who virtually lives an identical life to her on-screen counter part was insanely motivated to take her role as seriously as possible, from working out at the gym, to riggorous costume fittings, Tawnya was a real trooper. The film is set in between issues 3 and 4 of the current JSA Classified series featuring Power Girl. The movie is designed to be a mini episode between ongoing events in the comics and to in a sense parody the hell of crappy day jobs. I shot this movie over the course of 2 months, only because everyone's schedules were such pains in my ass. Had everything been done with out a problem the movie would have been done much sooner. But in any case, this was not only a labor of love, it was damn fun too. |
