CHRIS .R. NOTARILE

Chris is a 2005 graduate from the School of Visual Arts. Although he has a BFA in animation, his true passion in life is film. Chris studied animation at SVA specifically to become a more efficient filmmaker. Majoring specifically in Stop-Motion animation, (where films like Corpse Bride and Chicken Run are made) Chris learned the technique of puppet building, where you physically fabricate your actors, as well as set design.
Chris openly admits that Stop-Motion is the closest one will ever get to, playing God. Not only does one have to know how to animate, they have to build their characters from the ground up and bring them to life through movement. You would have to act for them. This ability stuck with Chris as he progressively evolved from animation to film.
As a former animator, Chris is able to physically as well as verbally express his vision to his actors when directing. His eye for the camera is more acute than most regular directors. This is due to his fondness of commercialism, or as he would say “Looking for the Money Shot”.
In the summer of 2004, Chris wrote, shot, directed and edited his first fan film- The Nightmare Ends on Halloween. At the time, fan films had just really begun to take off, and TNEOH was no exception. It is quite possibly the 1st horror fan film, or regular film for that matter, to ever showcase Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface and Pinhead all in one room. When writing the script, Chris knew that the money it would take for “Hollywood” to make a story like this happen would be astronomical. So Chris decided to take the law into his own hands and make something he knew most people wouldn’t see in their lifetime.
The Nightmare Ends on Halloween marked the beginning of Chris’ career in fan films. The film was featured as the “Clip of the Month” on Halloweenmovies.com for all of October, 2004 and was so popular at the time, it prompted Chris to get his own website.
In November of 2004, Blinky-Productions.com launched. The Beta version was horribly basic and nothing compared to what it is now. But it didn’t matter. People still came to watch and download their favorite fan film.
January 2005, due to excessive demand by you, the fans, Chris decided to make another fan film, Friday the 31st : Michael vs Jason. The film debuted in February, after a massive face lift to the site. With a new fresh look to the site, another film under his belt, Chris went to his 1st comic book convention to promote his work. The Big Apple Con was a huge success, though there was a horrible blizzard at the time, word spread fast, so fast that Blinky-Productions.com crashed three times in three days due to excessive viewing of F31. Even though it meant he had to buy a more expensive server, Chris was still pleased to know people were watching his work.
Since then, Chris has made an amazing number of films. His work ethic is insanely intense. Producing about a short film a month, Chris has definitely earned title of “One of the hardest working men in the biz.” And on the homestretch of harnessing his specific style of film making, Chris is now trying his hand at acting. Starting off with small cameos in his and other people’s films, Chris is gearing up for his big role as the lead in his new fan film, Blue and Gold as the legendary hero: The Blue Beetle.
Along with all these amazing accomplishments, Chris is attempting to produce his 1st feature film entitled, Axe Massacre. Wish him luck as he prepares to take “Hollywood” by the balls.
